| or audits of gas stations. Someone takes samples of the stations gas and it goes out to a lab. I was getting gas one day when one of the sample takers was doing his job. I had a chat with him and he said the samples go to a lab. They check for water, octane, volume pumped vs. volume metered, etc. He said if everything is good then the station never hears from them, but if it's not then they levy fines in some cases and shut the station down in others. If the tanks have water then they get pulled. So to answer your question I would contact the Government dept that handles this stuff where you live and see what they have to say.
